Dayton Dragons News Release

GENEVA, IL - The Midwest League has announced the rosters for the 2013 Midwest League All-Star Game, which will be held on Tuesday, June 18 and hosted by the Dayton Dragons. Six Cougars players have been named to the Western Division All-Star team: infielders Dan Vogelbach and Rock Shoulders, outfielder Bijan Rademacher, and pitchers Tayler Scott, Felix Pena and Nathan Dorris. Vogelbach will start for the Western Division squad as designated hitter. This marks the largest total of Cougars mid-season all-stars since the 2009 Cougars squad, which fielded seven.

Entering play this evening, Shoulders leads the league with 12 home runs and was named the Cubs Minor League Player of the Month for April. Vogelbach is the only Cougars player to play in all 55 games so far this season and leads the team with 37 RBI. Rademacher's .320 batting average leads all Cougars players with at least 100 at-bats.

Pena was placed on disabled list May 16 but is 2-0 with a 2.23 ERA. Scott shares the team lead with 10 starts and reliever Nathan Dorris has posted a 2.52 ERA in 14 appearances.

Rosters from both All-Star squads are included with this release. Past Kane County Cougars who have been named Midwest League All-Stars include some notable names to baseball fans. That distinguished list includes Miguel Cabrera ('01), Adrian Gonzalez ('01), Kevin Millar ('94), Charles Johnson ('93) and Gregg Zaun ('91).
