LANSING, Mich. - Four Lansing Lugnuts, including two members of the starting lineup, were voted to the 2013 Midwest League Eastern Division All-Star Team, the Midwest League announced Wednesday.

Second baseman Christian Lopes and third baseman Gustavo Pierre will each start for the Eastern Division All-Stars, with center fielder Dalton Pompey named as a reserve, and right-hander Wil Browning named to the All-Star pitching corps.

The 2013 MWL All-Star Game will be held at the Dayton Dragons' Fifth Third Field on Tuesday, June 18th.

Christian Lopes impressed right from his season debut, with the 20-year-old leading the Lugnuts in hits (61) and RBIs (32) entering Wednesday night's home game with Fort Wayne.

Playing his third season in Lansing, 21-year-old fan favorite Gustavo Pierre sizzled in May with a .391 batting average and now tops the Lugs with 17 multi-hit performances and a .313 overall average for the season.

Noted for his speed and elite defensive ability in center field, 20-year-old Dalton Pompey paces Lansing with 16 stolen bases and 32 runs scored.

Sidearming 24-year-old Wil Browning allowed just one earned run in his first 17 relief appearances, ranking him among the toughest relievers to hit in the Midwest League.

The All-Stars were determined in a vote by the Field Managers of the Midwest League, selected off a ballot of nominees compiled by the managers. The Bowling Green Hot Rods were the only ballclub with more than one player in the Eastern Division starting lineup, placing three starters and a league-high nine total players in the game.

Lansing Lugnuts tickets are available for purchase at lansinglugnuts.com and by calling 517-485-4500, and Lugnuts text alerts are easily accessed by texting LUGNUTS to 313131.
