Peoria, IL - A career-high seven innings pitched from Cory Jones and Jordan Walton's second straight multi-RBI game propelled the Peoria Chiefs to a 4-1 win against the Clinton LumberKings on Monday night. The win moved Peoria to 31-25 heading into the second game of their final home stand before the All-Star break. The LumberKings took an early lead in the third inning after plating a run against Jones, who was making his Dozer Park debut. With one out Jordy Lara doubled to center and moved to third on a Tim Lopes single. A Jones wild pitch scored Lara to give Clinton a 1-0 lead. The Chiefs escaped the inning after Jabari Henry popped out, and Ketel Marte grounded out to short.

With a pair of runners in scoring position Jordan Walton doubled to left to drive in both Vargas and Wilson while putting the Chiefs up 3-1 after the sixth inning.

After Marcus Littlewood struck out looking, Jones walked Janelfry Zorrilla to load the bases. With two outs and the bases full, Lara flew out to right field and the Chiefs escaped the inning with their 3-1 lead intact.
