Crunch Announce Roster Moves

Syracuse, NY (December 19, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled left wing Mike York and returned defenseman Clay Wilson to the Crunch. In addition, the Crunch have signed left wing Mike Sgroi to a professional tryout contract.

York, 30, has appeared in all 28 games for the Crunch this season, leading the club in scoring with seven goals, 16 assists and 10 penalty minutes. A native of Waterford, Michigan, York was signed by Columbus as a free agent on July 25, 2008.

Wilson, 25, has appeared in 23 games with the Crunch this season, leading all defensemen on the club in scoring with eight goals, seven assists and four penalty minutes. He has also skated in five games with Columbus this year, tallying one assist.

Sgroi, 30, has appeared in four games with Johnstown (ECHL) this season, notching two goals. Sgroi was invited to the Crunch's training camp and suffered a broken hand during a pre-season game on October 2 vs. Rochester. He appeared in 16 games for the Crunch during the 2005-06 season, registering two goals, one assist and 32 penalty minutes.

The Crunch's next game is Friday, December 18 as they travel to Binghamton to take on the Senators at 7:05 p.m. The Crunch return home on Saturday, December 20 for a 7:30 p.m. contest against the Lake Erie Monsters.
