Worcester Sharks "Be a LEADER" Program Salutes "Leader of the Month"

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced that the "Be a Leader" program's "Leader of the Month" will be honored before the Sharks host the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday, December 20th at 7:05p.m. at the DCU Center.

December's "Be a Leader of the Month" is 9-year-old Brendan Donahue of Grafton, MA. Brendan celebrated his 9th birthday party at the Sharks game on October 18th and in lieu of gifts, he ask his friends to make a donation to the Cooper Mitochondrial Fund. Brandon raised over $300 at his birthday party. He will receive a "Leader of the Month" certificate and a limited Worcester Sharks crystal puck.

Created at the start of the 2007-08 season by the Worcester Sharks and the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, the "Be a Leader" program is designed to provide students between the grades of 4-6 with leadership tips to enrich their lives as well as others around them. Sharks players and Mascot Finz will be present at the school assemblies along with the principle of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, Abby Williams.

On December 17th, Worcester Sharks players Mike Moore and Brett Westgarth spoke about the dangers of bullying to over 300 4th and 5th graders at the Neary Elementary School in Southboro, MA. Each participant in the assembly received one ticket to an upcoming 2008-09 regular season Sharks home game and a "Be a Leader" activity booklet compliments of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates.

The Sharks host the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday with the first 3,000 fans receiving a hand autographed Derek Joslin collector's card presented by WTAG on Family Fun Pack Night. On every Saturday; one ticket, one hot dog, and one soda cost just $15.25 each when buying a minimum of four tickets. It is also Saturday night signings, as a Sharks player will sign autographs in between the 2nd and 3rd period.
