Toronto Marlies News Release

The Toronto Marlies and Ricoh Coliseum will open their doors on Tuesday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 30 for free public skating from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Skating enthusiasts and hockey fans can enjoy the same ice that the professional hockey players skate on during the holiday season.

The Leafs Nation Mobile Fan Zone powered by Ford and the Game is Fun, presented by Ricoh, will be on location for the two skating events. The Game is Fun is a program that provides young hockey players with the chance to develop their hockey skills in a fun and exciting environment. In addition, Toronto Marlies mascot Duke the Dog will also be in attendance.

Participants must bring their own skates and CSA approved hockey helmets are mandatory for children 12 years of age and under. A maximum of 250 skaters will be allowed on the ice at any given time. Skaters should enter Ricoh Coliseum through the main entrance.

Ricoh Coliseum, located on the Grounds of Exhibition Place, is the home of the Toronto Marlies, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Maple Leafs. The venue is easily accessible by public transportation and is close to all major arteries.

The Marlies road-trip continues on Saturday when they face the Springfield Falcons - AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers - at 7:00 p.m. Toronto then travels to Hartford to take on the Wolf Pack - AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers - on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. Fans can listen to all Toronto Marlies regular season games on THE FAN 590 or fan590.com.
