Seven Inches Of Snow Means $7 Snow Day Tickets Tonight

Rockford, Ill.- The snow may be blowing outside, but it's warm and dry in the Rockford MetroCentre.

Kick off the Winter Break tonight as the Rockford IceHogs take on the Houston Aeros for the first time since eliminating them from the 2008 Calder Cup playoffs in April.

The unofficial snow total is 7-9 inches, so we're offering a "Snow Day" Special - upper level tickets for just $7. Rock Valley College and WTVO will welcome The Superfan tonight. Cameron Hughes will be in attendance all game long so watch for falling t-shirts throughout the night.

The Rockford IceHogs are coming off of a 7-2 win against the Chicago Wolves at the MetroCentre and are fifth in the West Division despite sitting just four points behind the first-place Wolves. Goalie Corey Crawford is riding a five-game winning streak and has allowed just three goals since coming back from the Chicago Blackhawks early last week.

Houston is 8-0-1-1 against the West Division and is coming into Rockford for the first time since the longest scoreless postseason game in American Hockey League history on April 19, 2008. Houston's Barry Brust is also riding a hot streak, having not lost in regulation since Nov. 22 against Worcester. He hasn't allowed more than one goal in regulation in four straight games and has a 1.97 goals-against average and .932 save percentage.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Dec. 20 vs. Houston Aeros. Another West Division showdown starts at 7:05 p..m. The back end of back-to-back contests against the Aeros in Rockford happens on Saturday.
