In Thursday's only AHL action, former Rampage defenseman Jamie Rivers scored the game-winning goal and ex-Rampage goalie Brent Krahn made 35 saves as Chicago edged San Antonio, 2-1... On Wednesday, Hartford scored two shorthanded goals in a 3-2 win over Providence... Nate Raduns scored in overtime to send Philadelphia to its sixth straight win, a 3-2 decision over Binghamton.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Toronto plays three games in snowy New England this weekend, beginning on Friday afternoon in Providence... The Marlies have won nine of their last 14 games overall (9-5-0-0) and three straight on the road... Tim Stapleton leads the Toronto offense with 25 points (4-21-25) in 27 games, including six multiple-point showings... Ben Ondrus has netted a goal in three straight games (4-0-4) and five of his last six (6-0-6) for the Marlies... Jiri Tlusty had three assists in regulation and two shootout goals in Wednesday's 5-4 win over Lake Erie... Providence enters Friday's action in first place, but stuck in a season-high three-game winless skid (0-2-0-1)... Martin St. Pierre has a point in three of his last four outings (2-4-6), and Peter Schaefer shows four points (2-2-4) in his last three contests... Toronto has the AHL's best road power play (28.6 percent); Providence boasts its fourth-best overall penalty kill (86.5%).
Houston continues a four-game road swing with tilts in Rockford on Friday and Saturday, the teams' first meetings since the opening round of last year's Calder Cup Playoffs... The Aeros have a standings point in six straight games (3-0-0-3) and sit one point back of the IceHogs for fifth place in the tight West Division... Two-time AHL All-Star Corey Locke is on a six-game scoring streak (5-6-11) for the Aeros and leads the team with 31 points overall (10-21-31)... Krys Kolanos has netted his team-high 15 goals (15-7-22) in just 19 AHL games this year... Houston's Mike Hamilton has a point in four of his first five career AHL games (1-3-4)... Evan Brophey has a point in three of his last four games (1-3-4) for the IceHogs... Rockford leading scorer Petri Kontiola (7-21-28) has been held scoreless just eight times in 26 games this season... The IceHogs have outscored opponents 27-14 in the opening period in 2008-09.
Red-hot Milwaukee takes its six-game winning streak into Grand Rapids this weekend for a pair of clashes with the North Division's Griffins... The Admirals have won 15 of 18 since Halloween night, and are 22-6-4-3 against Grand Rapids since Jan. 15, 2005 (including 4-0-0-0 this season)... Mike Santorelli is riding a 13-game scoring streak (8-16-24) for the Ads, one short of the AHL season high... Defenseman Alexander Sulzer shows a point in three straight games (2-2-4) and six of seven (4-7-11), and Cal O'Reilly leads Milwaukee with 32 points overall (5-27-32)... Rookie Justin Abdelkader has a point in six of seven (2-5-7) for the Griffins, who are 8-2-1-3 at Van Andel Arena this season... Ville Leino is pacing the offense with 23 points (5-18-23) in 25 games... Milwaukee has the AHL's second-ranked power play (21.9 percent), while Grand Rapids ranks third in penalty killing (86.8 percent).

On Thursday, David Krejci tallied his first NHL hat trick and former AHL All-Star Marc Savard had four points (1-3-4) in Boston's 8-5 win over Toronto... In Wednesday's action, rookie goaltender Steve Mason - who is 2-1-0 (1.63, .937) for the AHL's Syracuse Crunch this season - made 47 saves as Columbus edged league-leading San Jose in overtime, 2-1.
