Admirals Holiday Ornament Auction Raises Nearly $1,500 for The Joy Fund

NORFOLK, VA - The Norfolk Admirals wives and girlfriends raised nearly $1,500 for The Joy Fund through their holiday ornament auction during Friday's game at Scope.

Holiday ornaments designed by the Admirals wives and girlfriends and personalized to reflect the interests and personalities of Admirals and Lightning players were auctioned off on the Scope concourse during Friday's game. Thirty-one different ornaments were won by Admirals fans during the auction.

The Joy Fund provides toys to local underprivileged children during the holidays. The program is run by The Virginian-Pilot.

The Admirals will travel to Philadelphia tomorrow to face off against the Phantoms at 7:05 p.m.

Norfolk's next home game comes on Saturday, December 27, against the Philadelphia Phantoms. The puck drops at 7:15 p.m. The first 500 kids 12 years of age and younger will receive a Chris Gratton mini-bobblehead doll courtesy of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
