San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 14, 2005) - San Antonio Rampage's NHL affiliate, the Phoenix Coyotes, today announced that they have reassigned left wing Steve Gainey and center Yanick Lehoux (conditioning) to San Antonio, and have recalled center Jamie Lundmark from the Rampage.
Gainey, 26, played in five games with the Coyotes after being recalled from San Antonio on Nov. 4 - the same day that he signed an NHL contract with Phoenix. In 12 games with the Rampage this season, he recorded 6-6-12 and 10 penalty minutes (PIM). At the time of his NHL recall, Gainey ranked tied for 14th in the entire AHL in scoring. He still leads all Rampage players in goals and points, and ranks tied for 1st on the club in assists.
Lehoux, who will be joining the Rampage for a conditioning stint, has played in 3 games (1-0-1, 2 PIM) with the Coyotes since being claimed on waivers from Los Angeles on Nov. 5. Lehoux played in his first NHL game on Nov. 8 at Minnesota, scoring his first NHL goal on his first shift. This season, he has also played in 7 games (5-2-7 and 6 PIM) with Geneve-Servette and 4 games with Basel (0-2-2 and 4 PIM) both of the Swiss National League.
Lundmark played in four games with San Antonio since agreeing to a voluntary assignment for conditioning purposes on Nov. 2 and collected 1-2-3 and 2 penalty minutes (PIM) in his last three games. The 24-year-old forward has also played in five NHL games this season with the Coyotes and New York Rangers, collecting one goal and six penalty minutes. The Coyotes acquired Lundmark on Oct. 18 from the Rangers in exchange for center Jeff Taffe.
The Rampage (4-10-0-1) begin a four-game road trip beginning Thursday in Omaha. All regular season games can be heard on the Rampage's flagship station "The Ticket" 760 AM (subject to conflicts) and all games can be viewed through B2 Networks' live video web cast for $6 to anyone with a high-speed internet connection, through a link at www.sarampage.com.
