
Admirals, Bruins exchange wins

NORFOLK, VA - The Admirals played back-to-back games against Providence this past weekend, coming away with a split against the Bruins. A Bruins goal with under three minutes left in the third broke a 1-1 tie as the Admirals fell 3-1 on Friday night. Carl Corazzini, James Wisniewski, Martin St. Pierre and Quintin Laing scored on Saturday while Adam Munro stopped 27 shots to secure a 4-1 victory for Norfolk.
The Admirals entertain the East Division-leading Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday night before traveling to Wilkes-Barre on Saturday and Philadelphia on Sunday.
STANDINGS
At 6-7-0-1 (13 pts), Norfolk is currently fourth in the East Division. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (13-0-1-0, 27 pts) is in first, followed by Hershey (8-3-1-3, 20 pts) in second and Bridgeport (7-6-1-0, 15 pts) in third. Philadelphia (5-8-0-2, 12 pts) and Binghamton (3-8-1-1, 8 pts) trail the Admirals.

On November 12th, the Admirals did not allow a power play goal for the first time in eight games (since Oct. 22 vs. Philadelphia).
That same game, Quintin Laing notched an empty-net shorthanded goal for Norfolk's first SH goal of the season. It was Laing's fifth career shorthanded tally, tying him with Matt Henderson for second place on the team's all-time leaders list for SH goals (1st - Ajay Baines, 9).
Colin Fraser has penalty minutes in 10 straight games (28 PIM since October 21st). Norfolk's franchise record for consecutive games with PIM is 11 set by Johnathan Aitken from October 18 through November 9, 2002 (45 PIM).
Carl Corazzini has seven points (2g, 5a) in the last seven games.
Steve Munn registered his first assist with Norfolk on November 12th.
Former Admirals Mark Bell (2g) and Duncan Keith (1g, 1a) led the Blackhawks to a 3-1 win over Edmonton Sunday. All Chicago goals and assists in the game went to former Admirals. It was the third game this season that players who have previously donned an Admirals jersey accounted for all Blackhawks' scoring (10/29 vs. Detroit, 11-6 vs. Phoenix).
34 of 49 goals (69%), 52 of 84 assists (62%), and 86 of 133 points (65%) for the Blackhawks this season have been scored by former Norfolk Admirals.
