Head coach Scott Gordon's club's penalty kill unit has had great success over the past five games. Until Norfolk scored a power play goal Saturday night the P-Bruins killed off 28 consecutive opponent power plays. Providence's penalty kill ranks fourth in the league, killing opponent's opportunities 87.7% of the time. The Bruins have also done a good job keep the opponent's puck out of the net allowing just 2.60 goals per game on average, which ranks sixth in the league. Tim Thomas helped that stat Friday night when he stopped 39 of 40 shots in a 3-1 win at Norfolk. .
Left wing Eric Healey continues to lead the P-Bruins in scoring after recording the game-winning goal Friday night in Norfolk. Healey has 13 points (6g, 7a). Rookie Tyler Redenbach had another two-point game on Friday, which gives him a team leading five on the season. Redenbach is currently second on the team in scoring with 11 points (4g, 7a) and tied for 12th in the league among rookies. Left wing Zdenek Blatny is quietly working his way up the team ladder in scoring. Even though he only has one goal on the season, he has eight assists for a total of nine points, which is third best on the P-Bruins. Rookie Ben Walter has eight points (2g, 6a), which is fourth on the team. All of his points have come on the man-advantage.
