Canadiens recall Lapierre, assign Huet to Hamilton

Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that the team has recalled forward Maxim Lapierre from the Hamilton Bulldogs. Goaltender Cristobal Huet has been assigned to Hamilton for conditioning purposes.

Huet, 30, has yet to play a game this season as he is recovering from off-season knee surgery. The native of St. Martin D'Heres, France, has appeared in 53 career NHL games, all with the Los Angeles Kings, earning a record of 14 wins, 20 losses, and 11 ties, with a 2.41 goals-against average and a 0.908 save percentage.

Lapierre, 20, has played in 15 games for the Bulldogs this season, collecting seven points (two goals, five assists) and nine penalty minutes. The native of St. Leonard, Quebec, played last season for the P.E.I. Rocket (QMJHL) and recorded 52 points (25 goals, 27 assists) and 139 penalty minutes in 69 games.

The Bulldogs next game will take place Wednesday, November 16, when they travel to Milwaukee to face the Admirals. Game time is 8:00 p.m.
