Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs selected forward Berkly Catton first overall to headline their 2021 WHL Prospects Draft class on Thursday.

Forward - 5'11" - 150 lbs

Hometown: Saskatoon, SK

Stats (2021-22): 15 GP, 11 goals, 12 assists, 23 points with Shattuck St. Mary's (MN)

Scouting Report: "...dynamic, skilled forward who can play all over the ice in all situations. He has produced offensively at every level he has played, scoring and setting up his teammates well. He also plays a responsible, 200-foot game in all three zones, can kill penalties and play in traffic. We love his character, hockey sense and poise under pressure. He has all the characteristics we look for in a player."

Other Notes: Catton is the third player Spokane has ever chosen at first overall, joining Jared Cowen (2006) and Ty Smith (2015). Catton recently moved back to Saskatoon and will play the remainder of the 2021-22 season with the Saskatoon Contacts U18 (SMAAAHL).
