Jake Guenther Re Ups with the RailCats

January 15, 2026 - (Gary, IN) A returning face has signed on to join the Gary SouthShore RailCats for next season. 1B/OF Jake Guenther will be back with the RailCats after joining the team a month into the 2025 season. Guenther is a left-handed hitter from Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The 28-year-old started his college career at Sacramento City College before transferring to TCU to become a Horned Frog. RailCats Sign a Few Returners

January 13, 2026 - (Gary, IN) The RailCats agreed to a couple of deals with two returning players from the 2025 team. Making their return to Gary are outfielder Carlos Machado, and Jake Hoover who will try his hand at a new position. Carlos Machado is a 27-year-old outfielder from Venezuela. He was signed as an International Free Agent by the Houston Astros and made his professional debut in 2015 in the Dominican Summer League. January 10, 2026 - (Gary, IN) The stove in Gary is scorching hot lately, with the RailCats adding another player to their roster for the upcoming season. Returning to the 'Cats after a brief stint last season is utility infielder Cooper Weiss. Weiss, 25, was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He grew up in the Fort Myers area in Florida and was named the 2019 Fort Myers News-Press Baseball Player of the Year. January 9, 2026 - (Gary, IN) RailCats Manager Jeff Isom has added a power bat to his 2026 roster. Coming to play in the United States for the first time is former Cuban National Series Home Run Champion, catcher Pedro Revilla. Revilla will turn 27 in March and is listed at five-foot-eight and 220 pounds. The slugger began playing baseball in his home country at just 18 years old in 2017.
