Three Players Sign on to RailCats

February 10, 2026 - (Gary, IN) The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced today the signing of three players: opening day pitcher Deyni Olivero, everyday first baseman Joe Suozzi, and former Mets prospect Sebastian Castro. Olivero is a 28-year-old right-hander from the Dominican Republic. His professional baseball journey began in 2016 when he signed as an international free agent with the Arizona Diamondbacks. February 5, 2026 - (Gary, IN) Despite the frigid temperatures, the snow and the icy roads, the long wait for Gary SouthShore RailCats hit a milestone with just 100 days to go until opening day. The hot stove continues to cast a warmth for the fans and on the stove today is returning right-handed pitcher Andres Diaz, and speedy outfielder Korry Howell. RailCats Bring Back Left Side of the Infield

January 22, 2026 - (Gary, IN) The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced today that the left side of the RailCats infield has signed back for the 2026 season. Shortstop Elvis Peralta and third baseman Olivier Basabe will be back at the US Steel Yard. Peralta was born in New York but moved to Boston where he grew up in a baseball loving household. At Lawerence High School he was an All-Conference player twice and hit at a .423 average. January 19, 2026 - (Gary, IN) - The Gary SouthShore RailCats signed three players today, all of whom are returning to Gary to suit up with the 'Cats. LG Castillo will rejoin the RailCats for his fifth season with the team, while RHP Peyton Long and catcher Cooper Edwards return for their third year.
