Alex Kostov Named OHL Player of the Week

November 10, 2025 - FLINT - The Ontario Hockey League announced on Monday that Firebirds forward Alex Kostov has been named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week for the week of November 3-9. Kostov played three games over the past week and put up an eye-popping seven goals and two assists along with a +6 plus/minus rating. He picked up his first OHL hat trick and had a career-high four goals during Friday's 9-3 win over the North Bay Battalion. Charlie Murata and Canada Red Top Canada White to Claim Gold at 2025 U17 World Challenge

November 10, 2025 - On Saturday night in Truro, Nova Scotia, Firebirds forward Charlie Murata and Canada Red defeated Canada White 6-3, to earn the Gold Medal at the 2025 U17 World Challenge. During Saturday's gold medal game, six different players found the back of the net for Canada Red, including Murata (Flint Firebirds / OHL), who opened the scoring. November 10, 2025 - FLINT - The Firebirds began last week with a record of 8-6-1-0. They faced a trio of opponents through the week, beginning across the Soo Locks on Wednesday at the CFL Memorial Gardens. Nathan Aspinall led things off by intercepting a pass and giving the Birds an early 1-0 with his seventh of the season early in period one. November 8, 2025 - FLINT - Mason Courville stopped 26 shots, five Firebirds had a multi-point game, and Alex Kostov recorded his second hat trick in as many nights as the Flint Firebirds beat the Guelph Storm, 6-3 on Saturday night at the Dort Financial Center.
