Condors Squeeze Past Fresno

The Condors offense came out strong on Friday, putting 18 first period shots on goal. Despite this, they trailed 2-1 after the first period. Christian Skoryna scored a goal late in the second period to tie the game at two, while Shawn Byram's wraparound early in the third frame made it 3-2 Condors. They held on to the lead, and improved to 6-0-1 in Fresno this season and 12-1-1 overall against the Falcons. They outshot Fresno 41-20 in the game, and set a new franchise mark with their 35th victory of the year.

Can't Hang On

Bakersfield again put up over 40 shots on goal, but on "Jersey Off Our Backs" night it wasn't enough. The Condors received goals from Paul Rosebush and Jason Jackman to hold a 2-1 lead through two periods. With less than 10 minutes remaining in the contest, Idaho scored twice in the span of less than three minutes to tie the game and take the 3-2 lead, which they held on to for the victory. It was just the seventh regulation loss this season for Bakersfield on home ice. After the game, the team's jerseys, which were designed by the fans, were auctioned off and raised nearly $14,000 for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Kern County.

Sunday, March 16
Late Loss in Long Beach

The Condors fell behind 2-0 in the first period on Sunday night in Long Beach. Paul Rosebush scored a goal for the fourth straight game late in the second period, while Jeff Goldie tallied in the third frame to tie the game at 2-2. The game appeared headed for a shootout with less than a minute left in regulation, when the Ice Dogs pulled back in front. Mike Barrie redirected a shot past goalie Kevin St. Pierre for his second tally of the night, with 31 seconds remaining on the clock, and the Condors lost 3-2.

This Week

The Condors head back to Long Beach on Wednesday night for a 7:00pm start from the Long Beach Arena. It's the last meeting of the season between the Condors and Ice Dogs. All games, home and away, can be heard live on KGEO AM 1230, with "Condors Countdown" starting 15 minutes prior to face off, with Condors Broadcaster Kevin Bartl handling the play-by-play.

The game will be carried live on Time Warner Cable Ch. 21, and replayed on Saturday morning at 10:00am.

On Saturday night, the Anchorage Aces come into town for a 7:00pm match and the return of The Famous Chicken, sponsored by KGET-TV 17, K-Lite 105.3 and Bill Wright Toyota.
