Richmond Renegades News Release
The Richmond Renegades are 31-30-5 after going 1-1-1 last week. The âGades are in a sixth place tie with Reading in the Northeast Division, 11 points behind Trenton and the final Northeast playoff spot. The âGades continue a nine game road trip this week. They do not return home until the final weekend of the regular season.

GAME NOTES: The third and final meeting of the season and the âGades only visit to Columbia. Richmond is 1-1 vs. the Inferno. âGades were 0-1 at Columbia last season. âGades out-shot the Inferno by a combined 25 in the two games at Richmond. The two clubs have combined for 16 total PIM in two games.
Saturday, March 22 @ Greenville 7:35 PM
GAME NOTES: The third and final meeting of the season and the second of two at Greenville. Clubs have split two meetings with the home club winning by shutout in both. Jon Zion and Lars Pettersen each have four points vs. the Grrrowl. Marc Magliarditi had the âGades shutout.

Tuesday, March 11 @ Trenton LOSS 4-3 (OT)
GAME NOTES: The âGades rallied from a 2-0 deficit to score two goals 13 seconds apart in the second period. Nick Lent scored a power play goal to put the âGades in front. Trenton's Mike Hurley scored with :50 to play forcing OT. Vince Williams scored the game-winner. The âGades were 1-1 on the power play and 4-4 on the penalty kill.
Friday, March 14 @ Charlotte LOSS 5-2
GAME NOTES: The âGades jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Jon Zion goal. Charlotte erupted for three second period goals. Lars Pettersen scored to make it a one goal game but the Checkers scored twice more in the third period.
Saturday, March 15 @ Columbus WIN 5-1
GAME NOTES: The âGades ended their road winless streak. Richmond scored three goals in under seven minutes of the first period to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Dan Lombard carried a shutout mid-way into the third period. Five âGades scored. David Brosseau and Russ Bartlett had a goal and an assist.
âGADES NOTES: The âGades are 1-2-2 on a nine game road trip. The âGades snapped a 15 game road winless streak (0-11-4) Saturday at Columbus. Richmond is 6-2-2 in their last 10 games. The âGades have won seven straight home games by a combined score of 32-13. The club record for consecutive home wins is eight during the â92-'93 season. The âGades 24 home wins is the third highest total in club history with two home games remaining (the club record is 27 in â95-'96. Richmond won 25 home games in â94-'95, and 24 in â98-'99). Their seven road wins is fewest in the ECHL. Marc Magliarditi was called up to Cleveland of the AHL and Daniel Goneau was called up to Lowell of the AHL last week. Garret Stroshein remains on re-call with Portland of the AHL. Nine âGades have been called up this season. Nick Lent and Lars Pettersen have points in three straight games. Jon Zionâs three game scoring streak ended Tuesday. Magliarditi started eight straight games prior to his call-up. The âGades stretch of 14 straight penalty kills ended Friday. Magliarditi has moved past Jeff Salajko into sixth place on the ECHL career wins list with 133. His next target is ex-Renegades goaltendter Sandy Allan who is fifth with 137. The âGades have lost their last five overtime/shootouts after winning their first seven. Richmond is in a stretch of three straight games vs. the Southeast Division. The âGades are 6-5 vs. Southeast clubs. Pettersen is tied for 14th in the league in scoring, Goneau is tied for 18th. Magliarditi is fifth in minutes played and tied for fourth in shutouts. Leon Hayward is tied for the league lead in shorthanded goals by a rookie (four). Zion is sixth in the league in points by defenseman and is the league's leader in scoring by a rookie defenseman. The âGades are fourth in penalty killing (83.5%), tied for sixth in shorthanded goals (14), and eighth in fewest shots on goal allowed per game (30.7). Richmond is the least penalized club in the ECHL.

Gord will also visit with Sports Radio 910's Mike Maniscalco every Thursday at 6:05 PM. âGades broadcaster John Emmett visits with Big Al each Friday at 8:50 AM.
