March 17, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release

The Fresno Falcons played their first games at home in three weeks this past weekend, but their return to Selland Arena was tarnished by three losses and a winless streak that has grown to a season-high seven games.

Fresno's first game following a franchise-record 11-game road trip was on Friday against the Bakersfield Condors. A 2-2 tie entering the third, former Falcon Shawn Byram scored the game-winning goal early in the frame as Bakersfield won, 3-2, lowering the Falcons' mark versus the Condors to 2-11-1 this season. On Saturday, defenseman Jason McBain scored twice to bring Fresno back from two one-goal deficits before the Long Beach Ice Dogs prevailed in a shootout by a score of 3-2. The weekend finale yesterday saw the Falcons lose to the league-leading Idaho Steelheads, 2-1, who rode the back of some last-minute goaltending heroics from Blair Allison to the victory.

The Falcons remain in fourth place in the West Coast Hockey League with a record of 30-26-8 and 68 points, still mathematically alive to move up to second or third place by the end of the regular season.

HOME STAND CONTINUES FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
