March 17, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Reading Royals News Release
The Reading Royals playoff chances were dealt a serious blow with two divisional losses this week. The Royals tangled for the final time with the Roanoke Express and Charlotte Checkers on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, respectively. Roanoke overcame a two-goal deficit to deal the Royals a 4-3 regulation loss. Sunday in Cricket Arena in Charlotte, the Checkers exploded in the final two periods to skate to a 7-2 victory.
The Royals will continue their four game road trip this week with games in Cincinnati on Tuesday and Toledo on Wednesday. Reading returns home for the final two games of 2002-03 in the Sovereign Center on Friday and Saturday. The Royals battle the Titans for the tenth and final time this season Friday, while ending the season in the Sovereign Center Saturday versus Atlantic City. Friday, the Royals will wear Jazz Fest jerseys, which will be auctioned off for Royals Charities on Monday at the Lincoln Plaza Hotel. The first 2,000 fans receive free Royals team posters. Saturday, Rieck's Printing will be handing out the 4th and final series of Royals hockey trading cards to the first 2,000 fans through the gate. #3 Ray DiLauro's jersey will be auctioned off at the Royals Fan-Attic stand.
