The Augusta Lynx ended the week with a win after dropping three earlier in the week, slipping to seven points behind Greenville for the fifth and final playoff spot. The Lynx record now stands at 24-36-5 with 53 points.

The Lynx traveled to Greenville Monday, March 10 losing 3-2 to the Grrrowl. Greenville were on the board alone until the third period when Ryan Lauzon got on the score sheet with an unassisted goal, followed shortly by a goal from Ryan Crane. Greenville's Michael Garnett was able to hold off 17 other shots in the third to hold onto the win for the Grrrowl.

The South Carolina Stingrays traveled to Augusta Friday, March 14 defeating the Lynx 4-2. The game remained scoreless until the second period when a goal by Brett Marietti put the Stingrays up by one. A power play goal from Chris Thompson evened the score, but the Rays would go on to net two more, with Ryan Crane closing the margin to 3-2. An empty net goal from Adam Calder would seal the win for South Carolina.

The Columbia Inferno defeated the Lynx 3-2 Saturday, March 15 despite an early lead by the Lynx. Both Lynx goals were scored by Jay Leach, his sixth and seventh of the season. Tom Draper picked up his fifth loss on the season, making twenty-two saves in sixty minutes of play.

Two goals a piece from Josh St. Louis and Andrew Williamson secured the win for the Lynx in North Charleston against the Stingrays on Sunday, March 16. Curtis Cruickshank picked up his seventh win of the year making forty-two saves on forty-five shots. Each team netted one power play goal on three opportunities.

The Northeast Division's first ranked Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies will make a rare appearance at the Civic Center on Wednesday, March 19 for the first ever meeting between the two teams. Atlantic City has a road record of 14-9-7 and have gone 5-5-0 in their last ten games. The Lynx home record is 15-12-3 and are currently on a three game home losing streak. The Lynx home penalty-killing unit is sixth in the league at 86.4 percent.

The Lynx will host the Greenville Grrrowl for the final meeting in Augusta on Friday, March 21. The Lynx are 2-4-0 against the Grrrowl this season, defeating them twice in Augusta. Martin Lapointe has 3 points (2g-1a) in three games, two power play goals and one game-winning goal. The Lynx have been successful three times in thirty-one opportunities on the power play and the Grrrowl have gone four for thirty-six on the power play.

The Columbus Cottonmouths will make their last appearance in Augusta this season on Saturday, March 22 and for the first meeting since February 8. The Cottonmouths are currently in seventh place in the Southeast Division and part of the battle for the fifth playoff. Columbus has a road record of 7-22-3, the worst in the league. The Lynx have outscored the Cottonmouths 27-16 in seven games played. Williamson is the leading scorer against Columbus, with 10 points (3g-7a) in four games this season.

Player of the Week: Ryan Lauzon had 4 points (2g-2a) in four games played and a plus three rating. He now stands at 40 points (20g-20a) for the season.

Goalie of the Week: Curtis Cruickshank was 1-2-0 for the week with a Goals Against Average of 3.03 and a Save Percentage of .916.

The auction raised over $10,000 to benefit the Augusta Lynx Foundation, which aids local charities. The next jersey auction will be on Sunday, March 30 following the final regular season game.

Tuesday, March 18: Wrens Elementary students will be visiting a 10 am practice at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center.

Wednesday, March 19: The Lynx host the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies with a game time of 7:05 pm.

Friday, March 21: The Lynx host the Greenville Grrrowl at the Civic Center. Face-off is 7:35 pm. It is Girl Scout night and Girl Scouts will be tossing Girl Scout cookies into the crowd during the intermission.

Saturday, March 22: The Columbus Cottonmouths will make their final trip to Augusta this season for United Way Night and Thomson, Georgia Night. Game time is 7:35 pm.
