
Condors Celebrate St. Patrick's Day; $13,850 Raised on Saturday to Benefit CASA

Upcoming week of March 17th - March 23rd:
· Monday, March 17th - Join the Condors as they celebrate St. Patrick's Day at the Downtown Business Association's St. Patrick's Day Mixer. Condors Captain Paul Willett will be joined by Defenseman Jon Sorg and other players as they will be signing autographs. The DBA will be holding this year's mixer at Wall Street Alley from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Wall Street Alley is located in downtown Bakersfield between Eye Street and Chester Avenue, and 18th Street and 19th Street.
· Monday, March 17th - Condors players Paul Rosebush and Kevin St. Pierre will be at Redwood Elementary School from 1:15 pm - 2:15 pm for a T.H.I.N.K. (Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge) program appearance. The Condors T.H.I.N.K. program is sponsored by 101.5 KGFM, Paramount Farms and ARRC Technology. Redwood Elementary School is located at 331 North Shafter Avenue.
· Thursday, March 13th - Join the "Voice of the Condors", Kevin Bartl as he hosts the Condors Coach's Show on KGEO AM 1230 live from the Holiday Inn Select's Q Street Bistro from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Head Coach Paul Kelly and select Condors players will be the guests on the show. The Holiday Inn Select is located at 801 Truxtun, on the corner of Q Street and Truxtun.
· Friday, March 21st - Join the Condors as they host the San Diego Gulls as Time Warner Cable & Radio Disney present Skyy Dogs USA. Be amazed by the most talented canines in the country as they perform on the ice and interact with the crowd. Also, Time Warner Cable, The Bakersfield Californian, and John's Incredible Pizza will host a Colonel Claw'd's Kids Club Night. All club members receive free terrace admission to the game. Time Warner will also be hosting Family Night. All Time Warner Cable subscribers can receive $5.00 terrace admission per person by presenting the coupon available in their cable bill. Single-game tickets are available through the Centennial Garden Box Office, open 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location. Group outings may be purchased by calling, or visiting the Condors office at Centennial Garden. The doors open at 6:00 pm and the puck drops at 7:00 pm.
· Saturday, March 22nd - The Condors host the Anchorage Aces as KGET-TV 17, Klite 105.3, & Bill Wright Toyota present The Famous Chicken. The Famous Chicken will be flying up from San Diego to entertain children of all ages. The doors open at 6:00 pm and the puck drops at 7:00 pm.
Week in Review:
· Saturday, March 15th - The Condors hosted the Idaho Steelheads for KLLY 95.3 & Burlington Homes "Jersey Off Our Backs" raffle & auction. Commemorative game-worn jerseys, designed by the fans, were auctioned off after the game. The jerseys raised $13,850, bringing the season's "Jersey Off Our Backs" raffle & auction total to a Condors record, $46,125. All proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Kern County. Also, Smooth Jazz 97.7 sponsored an eyeglass collection to benefit the Kern County Lions Club. Over 200 pairs of eyeglasses were collected.
Condors Droppings:
· The fifth annual Tip-A-Condor dinner will be held on Monday, March 24th at the Crystal Palace from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Sponsored by KUZZ 107.9, this year's event will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The charity dinner features Condors players and coaches posing as waiters for an evening, serving food and drinks to patrons. Tickets to the event are $25.00, $10.00 for children under 10, which includes tri-tip, chicken, rice, salad, potato and rolls. There will be a live auction as well after the dinner, with items ranging from signed merchandise to the stick used by Captain Paul Willett to record his 1,000th career point The Crystal Palace is located at 3223 Sillect Avenue. Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased at the Condors office next to Centennial Garden, which is open from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. They can also be purchased at the Claw'd's Squad Table on the concourse behind section 109 during all home games.
· For the month of March, in honor of his 1,000th point, Paul Willett bobbleheads are now half-off, with the purchase of a shirt.
· The Condors monthly Internet auction is a "Guest PA". This is your chance to grab the mic and assist the Condors PA announcer, Chris Peace during one of the remaining home games this season. You'll get to sit on the glass in the PA booth with The Peaceman during the game! Plus, you'll receive a Condors polo and a 5th Anniversary guest PA badge.
· The Condors find themselves in the #9 slot in the 'AA' minor league hockey poll on the web site www.inthecrease.com.
