Stirling Recalled, Macri Released

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have recalled Goaltender Scott Stirling from the ECHL's Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies and released Defenseman Vince Macri from an amateur tryout contract.

Stirling is currently ranked first among all ECHL netminders with a 1.91 goals against average, .933 save percentage and six shootout wins. The Hull, Massachusetts native is also third in the ECHL with 31 wins and tied for third with four shutouts. Stirling is 31-13-5 in 49 games with Atlantic City this season and was a member of the Boardwalk Bullies' Kelly Cup Championship team last year. Stirling also posted a record of 8-2 with a 2.41 goals against average and .918 save percentage in ten AHL games with the Sound Tigers last season. He was the Most Valuable Player at last season's ECHL All-Star game and was that League's Rookie of the Year and Goaltender of the Year in 2000-01 while playing for the Trenton Titans.

Macri signed with the Sound Tigers this past Friday and had one assist and five penalty minutes in three games over the weekend.

The Sound Tigers will play their first home game at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard after a stretch of seven straight on the road when they host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins tomorrow at 7:05 p.m.

Sound Tigers individual-game tickets are on sale at the Harbor Yard box office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and on all game days, as well as on-line at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 203-368-1000.
