Bridgeport Islanders Welcome Jason Shaya as New Broadcaster

September 24, 2025 - Bridgeport, CT - The Bridgeport Islanders announced today that Jason Shaya has been hired as the team's Director of Broadcasting and Communications. During his career, Shaya provided play-by-play commentary on television and radio in the National Hockey League, working with the Carolina Hurricanes and New Jersey Devils. He is also in his fifth season broadcasting European hockey, including the Swedish Hockey League, Switzerland's National League, and the Champions Hockey League. Bridgeport Islanders Sign Sean Day

August 6, 2025 - BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Islanders, American Hockey League affiliate of the New York Islanders, have signed defenseman Sean Day to an AHL contract. Day, 27, has 110 points (20 goals, 90 assists) in 277 career AHL games with the Syracuse Crunch and Hartford Wolf Pack. He posted career highs in goals (8), assists (32), points (40) and games played (69) with Syracuse in 2021-22, the same season he made his NHL debut with the Tampa Bay Lightning (two games). New York Islanders Sign Eklund

July 14, 2025 - BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The New York Islanders have signed forward Victor Eklund to a three-year, entry-level contract. The Islanders selected Eklund in the first round, 16th overall, during the 2025 National Hockey League Draft. The 18-year-old recorded 31 points (19 goals, 12 assists) in 42 games with Djurgårdens of HockeyAllsvenskan in Sweden last season.
