Columbus Reassigns Pandolfo and Fritsche

Syracuse, NY (March 30, 2004) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned left wing Mike Pandolfo to Syracuse. The team also announced that Columbus has reassigned center Dan Fritsche from Sarnia (OHL) to Syracuse.

Pandolfo, 24, appeared in 69 Crunch games this season prior to being recalled on March 26, recording 16 goals, 18 assists and 29 penalty minutes. Pandolfo appeared in two games with Columbus, making his NHL debut on March 26 against the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. A native of Winchester, Massachusetts, Pandolfo has appeared in 143 career AHL games, all with Syracuse, posting 25 goals, 27 assists and 60 penalty minutes. Pandolfo was acquired by Columbus along with the 30th overall pick in the 2002 Entry Draft from Buffalo in exchange for the 20th overall pick in the 2002 draft. Pandolfo is expected to make his NHL debut tonight when Columbus hosts the Mighty Duck of Anaheim.

Fritsche, 18, appeared in 27 games with Sarnia this season recording 16 goals, 13 assists and 26 penalty minutes. In 105 career games with Sarnia (2001-04), Fritsche has tallied 53 goals, 65 assists and 125 penalty minutes. Earlier in the season, Fritsche appeared in 19 games with Columbus, recording 1 goal and 12 penalty minutes. A native of Parma, Ohio, Fritsche was Columbus' second pick, 46th overall, in the 2003 Entry Draft.

Syracuse hosts Cleveland on Wednesday, March 31 at 7 p.m. The Crunch hosts St. John's on Saturday, March 27 for Bob Evans Team Photo Night.
