CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Cincinnati Mighty Ducks are proud to announce that left wing Casey Hankinson has been named the Mighty Ducks winner of the American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the greater Cincinnati community and charitable organizations during the 2003-04 season.

Hankinson has represented himself and the Ducks' organization with class both on and off the ice, volunteering his time to make community appearances at schools, libraries and sponsor-related events. He also helped the front office coordinate player appearances as well as being involved in several charitable events, including "Evening With The Mighty Ducks" and "Get Fed By The Ducks" which helped raise in excess of $20,000 for the American Cancer Society and Special Olympics.

In recognition of his efforts, Hankinson will be presented with an etched crystal trophy during an on-ice presentation prior to an upcoming home game.

Hankinson is now one of 28 finalists for the 2003-04 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year. The league award, named after the former Hershey Bears forward who died in 1997 following a 16-month battle with leukemia, will be presented during the Calder Cup 2004 final.

Hankinson, who was named the fifth captain in Cincinnati franchise history October 9, 2003, has 13 goals and 21 assists with 100 penalty minutes in 71 games this season. The 6-foot-1, 187-pound native of Edina, Minnesota leads the Ducks in game-winning goals (four) and shots (220).
