
Thrashers Send Santala, Heins to Chicago

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned center Tommi Santala and defenseman Shawn Heins to the Chicago Wolves.
Santala, who began the season with the Thrashers, has posted one goal and two assists in 33 games with the Thrashers, which includes his first professional National Hockey League point with an assist against the Chicago Blackhawks on Oct. 18.
The Helsinki, Finland, native shares fifth on the Wolves with 13 goals and ranks 11th on the club with 28 points in 43 games with Chicago this season.
Heins, who posted two penalty minutes for Atlanta last night after being recalled earlier in the day, has tallied four assists and 16 penalty minutes in 17 games with the Thrashers this season.
The 30-year-old blueliner ranks second among Wolves defensemen with eight goals and third among team blueliners with 18 assists and 26 points in 51 games this season.
