Stingrays Lose Parsons to Finland
January 30, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
South Carolina Stingrays News Release
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC-South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that forward Brad Parsons has left the team to pursue an opportunity in Finland. Parsons will leave the team immediately.
The fourth year professional currently leads the Stingrays in scoring with 12 goals and 26 assists for 38 points in 39 games. Last season, the Kingston, MA native had 13 goals and 37 assists for 50 points. After graduating from Princeton University, Parsons played his first two seasons in the AHL with the Portland Pirates.
"Losing Brad is going to be very tough on this team," commented Fitzsimmons. "He has had a great season for us. He is a quality center that plays well defensively and produces offensively. Brad will be hard to replace."
Parsons will play the final 13 games of the season in the Finnish Elite League.
South Carolina will wrap up a four game road trip in Gwinnett on Friday night before heading home to begin a three game home stand with the Greenville Grrrowl on Saturday. Saturday night is Military night with $8.00 tickets at the window for Military personnel and free parking for everyone.
