Loss To Wheeling Caps Off Short Weekend

TRENTON, NJ - A loss to the Wheeling Nailers on Friday and an otherwise idle weekend saw the Trenton Titans hold on third place in the North Division vanish. After being leapfrogged by the Toledo Storm, the Titans now sit tied for fourth place with the Johnstown Chiefs.

The Titans headed to Wheeling, WV on Friday looking to gain two points in their only game this weekend. The Nailers, however, were able to put the puck past Rejean Beauchemin three times on eight power play opportunities in a 3-0 victory. Luis Tremblay tallied two goals on the evening including the game-winner at 8:00 minutes of the first period. Andy Chiodo stopped all 31 shots as Wheeling registered its second consecutive shutout win over Trenton.

The Titans will face off against the Chiefs in Johnstown on Wednesday, February 1. Trenton will then host a two-game set versus Toledo on Friday, February 3 and Saturday, February 4.

THIS WEEK: Wednesday, February 1 @ Johnstown, 7:30pm (WBCB 1490AM) Cambria County War Memorial - The eighth meeting out of thirteen between the Titans and Chiefs. Trenton is 4-3-0 against Johnstown this season, but it's the Chiefs who have won the last three contests. The Chiefs are holding the Titans to just 1.38 goals per game.
