Rawlyk, Graham reassigned to Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The New York Rangers announced today that defenseman Rory Rawlyk and center Bruce Graham have been reassigned to Charlotte. Rawlyk returns to the Checkers after a two-game stint with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL. Graham, a rookie, comes to Charlotte after skating in 23 games with Hartford this season.

During Rawlyk's stint with the Pack, he notched an assist and recorded two penalty minutes. Rawlyk joined the Wolf Pack fresh off an appearance at the ECHL All-Star Game in Fresno, Calif. on January 26th. Rawlyk has recorded 29 points (9g, 20a) and 40 penalty minutes in 43 games with the Checkers this season.

Graham, a 6-foot-6-inch, 235-pound 20-year old, was the second-round pick of the New York Rangers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft (51st overall). This season with the Wolf Pack, he recorded seven points (2g, 5a) and 15 penalty minutes in 23 games. Last season with Moncton of the QMJHL, he registered 42 points (23g, 19a) and 56 penalty minutes in 47 games. Graham, a native of Moncton, New Brunswick, was the second-highest rated QMJHL skater in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

In other transactions, the Checkers waived Liam McCarthy (D), Aaron Lewis (LW) and Curtis Menzul (D).
