Last Weeks Highlights:

1/27/06 > Long Beach 4 @ Fresno 3 (OT)

The Ice Dogs tied a franchise record since joining the ECHL in 2003 with their fourth consecutive road win Friday night at Fresno. Chris Kenady, Justin Aikins, and Christian Larrivee all scored power play goals for Long Beach, while Sean McAslan provided the game winner 1:15 into overtime. Cory Urquhart had two assists extending his point scoring streak to seven games. Jaroslav Halak won his fifth in a row for the Ice Dogs, finishing with 31 saves. In addition to going 3-4 on the power play, the Ice Dogs also stopped all seven of Fresno's man advantages.

1/28/06 > Long Beach 2 @ Stockton 1 (SO)

The Ice Dogs won their fifth consecutive road game Saturday night, setting a franchise record since joining the ECHL. Chris Kenady got the goal for Long Beach from Steeve Villeneuve in the first period on the power play. Former Ice Dog Nathan Martz got the lone goal for Stockton. Olivier Michaud got the win making 28 saves while the Ice Dogs shot 52 times. They went 1-11 on the power play while stopping all 10 of Stockton's power plays.

1/29/06 > Long Beach 2 @ Stockton 1 (SO)

In the final game of a three-game road trip, the Ice Dogs again won by a score of 2-1 in a shootout over the Stockton Thunder. It was their sixth consecutive road win, tying an all-time franchise record for all three leagues they have played in (ECHL, WCHL, IHL). The Thunder took a 1-0 lead in the third before Sean McAslan tied it up. Greg Hewitt was credited with the win, making 32 saves. The team went 0-4 on the power play while Stockton went 1-4.

This Weeks' Games:

2/1/06 > Long Beach vs. Alaska

The Ice Dogs will face-off Wednesday against the league leading Alaska Aces. Alaska is 2-0-0 against Long Beach so far this season, winning both games back in December at the Long Beach Arena.

2/3/06 > Long Beach vs. Las Vegas

The Ice Dogs will face another tough opponent Friday night when they take on the Las Vegas Wranglers. Las Vegas currently has the second best record in the league, just behind Alaska. The Ice Dogs are 0-2-1 versus the Wranglers so far this season. The game is being dubbed "Cheesy Noisemaker Night" as all fans in attendance are being encouraged to bring a package of macaroni and cheese to shake as a noisemaker. The boxes will then be collected and donated to the Long Beach Rescue Mission.

2/4/06 > Long Beach vs. San Diego

The Ice Dogs will play their final of a three game home stand Saturday night versus the San Diego Gulls. They are 2-1-1 against the Gulls so far this season. The Ice Dogs will also be having their first ever Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear to throw onto the ice after the Ice Dogs score their first goal. The bears will be collected and donated to charity.
