Royals Notes:

v The Royals won the only game the team played this past week. Reading's record is now 25-11-2=52, which places the Royals in second place in the North Division of the American Conference and translates into a .684 win percentage-which is the fifth best win percentage in the league.

v The lone game this week for Reading-a 4-2 win over Dayton on Saturday night-was played on the road. The Royals are now 14-4-1 in the 19 road games played so far this season. Reading is 11-2-0 in the team's last thirteen away games.

- The Royals' first two games this week-v. Toledo on Wednesday and v. Wheeling on Friday-are also road games.

v The first goal in Saturday's 4-2 win over Dayton was scored by the Bombers, while they were on the power play at the 12:55 mark of the first period.

- This marked the fourth consecutive game that the opponent has scored the game's first goal on the Royals.

- Over the course of the season, the Royals are 10-10-0 when the opponent scores first (and 15-1-2 when Reading gets the game's first goal).

v The Bombers' first goal on Saturday night was scored while Dayton was on the power play.

- This marked the tenth consecutive game that Reading's penalty killing unit has given up at least one goal against.

- In the last ten games, the Royals' pk has allowed 14 power play goals against in 64 chances-a 78.1% kill ratio.

- Over the course of the season, the Royals' have allowed 40 power play goals against in 238 chances for the opponent-a kill ratio of 83.2%, which is tied for eighth in the league.

- The high water mark thus far for the Royals' penalty killing unit is 87.9%, which was established back on December 1, 2005.

v The Royals' first goal on Saturday night (which tied the score at one) was scored by Chris Barr at the 16:48 mark of the first period, while the Royals' were playing with a five-on-three skater advantage.

- Saturday night's game was Barr's first for the Royals since January 15. (Barr had been recalled to the Manchester Monarchs-for the second time this season-on January 16. Barr played two games with Manchester on this latest call up; and he has played five AHL games this season with the Monarchs)

- For Barr, that was his second goal of the season. His first was scored back on November 26 in a 5-1 win over the Trenton Titans.

- Barr is currently playing at a plus 16 for the Royals, second only to Stuart Kerr (+ 18) in plus/minus ratio on the team.

v The Royals' first goal on Saturday night (by Chris Barr at the 16:48 mark of the first period) came on the second power play opportunity of the game for Reading.

- Prior to this game, the Royals had gone four consecutive games-and twenty-two consecutive chances with the power play-without scoring a power play goal.

- The Royals second goal on Saturday night (by Shay Stephenson at the 14:15 mark of the second period to make the score 2-1, Reading) was also scored while the Royals were on the power play.

- This marked the fourteenth time this season that Reading has scored more than one power play goal in a single game.

- Over the course of the season, the Royals have scored 48 power play goals in 205 chances with the man advantage, a 23.4% scoring ratio, which is ranked 3rd amongst the 25 teams in the ECHL.

- In the last ten games, Reading has scored 8 power play goals in 52 chances with the man advantage, a 15.2% scoring ratio.

- The high water mark thus far for the Royals' power play scoring ratio is 26.6% established on December 17, 2005.

v Reading's second goal on Saturday night (which made the score 2-1, Reading) was scored by Shay Stephenson at the 14:15 mark of the second period, while the Royals were playing with the man advantage.

- This goal was Stephenson's first with the Royals since December 18, when Reading lost to the Fresno Falcons, 3-2.

- This was actually only a span of five games with the Royals for Stephenson, as he had been re-called to the Manchester Monarchs on December 29 (where he played six games before being re-assigned to the Royals on January 20.)

- Stephenson also assisted on two goals for the Royals on Saturday night, marking the second time this season he has had three or more points in a single game with Reading. (Stephenson became the first player in Royals' team history to score four goals in a single game in a 6-1 win over the South Carolina Stingrays on November 19, 2005).

- Over the course of the season, Stephenson has racked up five multi-point games in the 28 that he has played for Reading.

- In the three games that has played since being re-assigned by Manchester to the Royals on January 20, Stephenson has five points (1g - 4a = 5pts).

v The Royals' third goal on Saturday night was scored by Chris Bala at the 18:39 mark of the second period while the Royals were playing a man short.

- This marked Bala's league leading fifth short-handed goal (and sixth short-handed point) of the season.

- This goal also turned out to be Bala's third game winning goal of the season-and two of his game winners have been scored while the Royals' were short-handed.

- For Bala, Saturday's goal was his 23rd point in his last 17 games the Royals (12g - 11a = 23pts).

- Bala has picked up at least one point in 17 of the 23 games he has played for Reading this year.

v Chris Bala's game winning goal on Saturday night was the eleventh short-handed goal of the season for the Royals, which places the Royals third in the league in that category.

- Three of the Royals' eleven short-handed goals have turned out to be game winners.

- Nine of the eleven short-handed goals for Reading this year have been score in the team's last 16 games, dating back to December 18 against the Fresno Falcons.

v The Royals fourth goal on Saturday night was scored by Malcolm MacMillan into an empty net with 21 seconds remaining in the game to make the score 4-2, Reading.

- For MacMillan that was his third goal of the season-and his second in his last two games.

- MacMillan also picked up an assist in Saturday's game, marking his third multi-point game of the season.

- MacMillan is currently riding a three game point streak (2g - 2a = 4pts).

v Eric Werner had two assists in the Royals' 4-2 win over Dayton on Saturday night.

- This was Werner's first game with the Royals since being re-called to the Manchester Monarchs on December 27. He played fourteen games with the Monarchs during this stint and picked up 7 assists in those games.

- For Werner, Saturday's game marked his second multi-point performance of the year with the Royals. He has had at least one point in nine of his last fourteen games with Reading.

v Saturday's game marked the third consecutive game-and the sixth out of the last seven-in which Reading has scored four or more goals.

- Over the course of the season, the Royals have scored four or more goals in 25 of the team's 38 games.

- Reading has scored a total of 150 goals this season, an average of 3.95 goals per game, which ranks the team third in the league in that category.

v The Royals' defense held the Bombers to two goals in Saturday's 4-2 win, marking the second consecutive game that the team has held the opponent to two goals.

- Saturday's game marked the sixteenth time this season that Reading has held the opponent to two goals or less.

- Over the course of the season, the Royals have allowed 115 goals against, an average of 3.03 per game, which ranks eighth in the league.

- The high-water mark thus far this season with respect to goals against for the Royals was established on December 1, when the Royals had a 2.29 team goals against average.

v Yutaka Fukufuji has now played ten consecutive games for the Royals, going 5-5-0 in those games with a 3.54 goals against average.

- Over the course of the season, Fukufuji has gone 10-6-1 with a 3.24 goals against average and a .910 save percentage.
