INFERNO COACH'S SHOW RETURNS: Tuesday, January 31st at 7pm. Travis Lisabeth and Derek Campbell will be our special player guests. Come join us live at The Tap Room, located on Bower Parkway off of Harbison Blvd. The Tap Room is located right next door to the Columbiana Grand Movie Theatre. The Tap Room is home to 50 different beers on tap including root beer. Enjoy their great menu of dinner items, including their Texas Tumbleweed Rolls, Ahi Tuna, Brew Pub Style Roast Beef Sandwich and the Spinach and Portabella Mushroom Sandwich. You can also listen on ESPN 93.1FM from 7pm - 8pm.
THE WEEK AHEAD Friday, February 3rd Inferno vs. Greenville Grrrowl 7:05pm Carolina Coliseum
Greenville is in third place with 52 points (25-11-2) in the South Division. The Inferno is 2-2-0 against the Grrrowl this season. This is the fifth game between these two teams this year. The last time the Inferno and Grrrowl met was on January 8th in Columbia and Greenville won 5-1.
Saturday, February 4th Inferno @ Charlotte Checkers 7:05pm Bobcats Arena
The Inferno is 3-2-1 this season against the Checkers. Charlotte is in fourth place in the South Division with 48 points (22-18-4). This is the seventh of 10 games between the Inferno and Checkers this season. The last time the Inferno and Charlotte met was on January 27th in Columbia and Columbia won 3-1.

The Columbia Inferno ended their winless streak with a stellar performance of newcomer NHL goalie Jani Hurme as they defeat the Charlotte Checkers 3-1. With no goals in the first period, Columbia opened the scoring at 8:45 as Chris Busby takes a shot from the point and Dallas Flaman picks up the rebound and scores as he crosses the crease. At 10:29, Leon Hayward passes the puck up to Travis Lisabeth as he creates a breakaway and shoots the puck over the goalies blocker and goes top shelf. The Inferno takes a 2-0 lead going into the third period. Charlotte scored at 5:20 of the third period to bring them to within one goal. Derek Campbell scored his first goal as an Inferno player as he picks up a rebound shot by Brandon Nolan at 6:19.
Saturday, January 28th Inferno 4 GWINNETT 5
The Columbia Inferno lost a heartbreaker as they were defeated by the Gwinnett Gladiators 5-4. On the power play, Gwinnett opened the scoring at 2:50 of the first period with a goal by Brad Schell. Jeff Smith picked up the rebound shot by Chris Busby as he nets his sixth goal of the season at 5:14 on a power play opportunity. Marc-Andre Bernier cycles the puck up the boards towards the blueline and sends to puck to Andy Berg. Berg passes the puck to Gary Gladue and he beats goaltender Sean Fields glove-side to give the Inferno a 2-1 lead. Derek Campbell nets his second goal of the season at 5:20 of the second period as he lifts the puck from behind the net past Fields as the Inferno take a 3-1 lead. Gwinnett brought the score to within one when Jeff Campbell scored on the power play at 17:39. At 8:43 of the third period, F.P Guenette scored on a 2-on-1 advantage, with help from Bernier, with a backhanded shot. The Gladiators scored less than a minute later to tie the game at four with a goal by Guillaume Desbiens. At 14:43, Gwinnett scored the game-winning goal. The Inferno outshot the Gladiators 32-27 and went 2-for-7 on the power play.
Sunday, January 29th Inferno 3 GWINNETT 7
Brandon Nolan scored two goals for the Inferno and Leon Hayward scored a power play goal as the Gwinnett Gladiators beat the Inferno 7-3. The Gladiators outshot the Inferno 56-23. Goaltender Jani Hurme stopped 49 of 56 shots on goal. Gwinnett was 5-for-7 on the power play and the Inferno went 2-for-8.
