ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades dropped both games this past week, which puts their overall record at 26-13-2 (54 pts., 2nd South Division).

THIS WEEK (All Times Eastern)

Wednesday, Friday & Saturday, February 1, 3 & 4, vs. Idaho Steelheads All Games 7:30 p.m. GAME NOTES: The Everblades host the Idaho Steelheads for three games this upcoming week. In a rematch of the 2004 Kelly Cup Finals, the Steelheads make their first visit to Germain Arena since the 2004 championship series. Last season the Everblades traveled to Idaho for the only other regular season matchup between the two teams and went 1-2-0 in three games in Boise. The Steelheads enter this week's action with a record of 23-14-4 (50 pts., 3rd West Division) and are 12-5-1 on the road this season. The Everblades are 1-1-0 vs. the West Division this season, and are 4-3-0 vs. National Conference teams this year.

PROMOTIONS: Wednesday, February 1, 2006, the first 2,000 Fans receive sheet 2 of Everblades player cards, courtesy of Messery Painting. Saturday, February 4, 2006, is the "Everblades Player Choice Award" where fans will be able to electronically vote for their favorite Everblade with a presentation to the top voted player in the second period.

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS

Friday, January 27 vs. South Carolina Stingrays 4-1 Loss The Everblades lost back-to-back home games in regulation for the first time this season after falling 4-1 to the South Carolina Stingrays on Friday night at Germain Arena. The Stingrays opened the scoring with a short-handed goal late in the first period. The short-handed tally was the seventh scored by the Stingrays this season, and the seventh allowed by the Everblades. Florida rallied to tie the game early in the second period when Dan Sisca tallied at 3:49. The Stingrays however answered that goal with three straight to close out the period. At the start of the third period, Phil Osaer took over in goal for starter Kevin Nastiuk, and stopped all seven shots he faced. Nastiuk, who allowed the four goals on 22 South Carolina shots, suffered his first loss with the Everblades falling to 2-1-0. Florida Special Teams: PP: 0-for-9; PK: 7-for-8.

Saturday, January 28 vs. South Carolina Stingrays 4-2 Loss

The Everblades lost their third straight game overall and their third straight to the South Carolina Stingrays after falling 4-2 on Saturday night at Germain Arena. South Carolina started quickly scoring just 53 seconds into the game. It took until the second period before the Everblades tied the game up. Dan Sisca collected the first of his two goals at the 14:56 mark while the Everblades were on the power play. South Carolina however grabbed the momentum back by tallying a power play goal with 14 seconds remaining in the second period to carry a 2-1 lead into the third period. In the final frame, the Everblades fired a season-high 27 shots on goal, and tied the game at two when Sisca's jammed a rebound into the net with 4:53 remaining in regulation, sending the season-high crowd of 7,287 into a frenzy. The lead was short lived however, as the Stingrays answered with a pair of late third period goals separated by just 41 seconds with the teams skating 4-on-4. Goaltender Phil Osaer suffered the loss in goal, allowing the four goals on 36 shots, dropping his record to 12-6-2. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-for-8; PK: 5-for-6.

Weekly Award Nominee: This week's Everblades ECHL Player of Week nominee is Dan Sicia who scored three goals in Florida's two games this past week. The 22-year-old rookie tallied all of the Everblades goals this weekend, scoring the first on Jan. 27 vs. South Carolina, then added two, including one power play goal, on Jan. 28 vs. the Stingrays.

Everblades Special Teams Breakdown: After 41 games, here's a look at Florida's special teams breakdown heading into the week: The overall power play is ranked 4th (50-for-232, 21.6%). At home, the 'Blades are ranked 10th (20.9%) and on the road, Florida is ranked 6th (22.3%). The overall penalty kill is ranked 6th (201-for-239, 84.1%). At home, the Everblades are ranked 6th (85.4%) and on the road the team ranks 14th (82.4%).

Roster Moves: The Everblades today placed defenseman Ryan Brindley on the 7-day injured reserve list. Brindley, who missed six games on the IR in December, suffered an injury in Florida's 4-2 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays on Jan. 28.

Star Studded Night: The 2006 Bud Light ECHL All-Star Game was held on Jan. 25 in Fresno, CA, and the National Conference defeated the American Conference 7-6. Everblades forward Ernie Hartlieb, who was voted as a starter for the American Conference team, scored a first period goal in the game. Forward Dan Sisca chipped in an assist in the third period and defenseman Chris Lee was held pointless. All three were skating in their first ECHL All-Star game.

Brotherly Love: Current Everblades forward Phil Aucoin recently saw his older brother Keith called up to the National Hockey League. Keith Aucoin, who skated in one game with the Everblades in 2001-02, has collected one assist in two games with the Carolina Hurricanes.

League Leaders: Everblades forward Dan Sisca is tied for 10th in overall scoring with his 45 points and ranked fourth among rookies in scoring ... defenseman Corey Neilson is tied for seventh in scoring among ECHL defenseman with his 30 points...defenseman Chris Lee is 13th among ECHL defenseman with 26 points...forward Ernie Hartlieb leads the league with three power play goals in one game... as a team, the Everblades are tied for the league lead with five power play goals in one game, and hold the longest streak for consecutive home wins with 12.

Who's Hot: Forward Ernie Hartlieb has picked up points in six of his last nine games (1g, 5a)...F Kevin Bergin has a points in six of the last seven games (3g, 4a)...F Paul Cabana has scored a point in six of his last eight games (5g, 5a) ... F Phil Aucoin has nine points in the last 11 games.

How Are They Doing?: Here's a look at how the Everblades players that earned call-ups to the AHL this season are doing: Defenseman John Adams, who recently signed a contract with the Grand Rapids Griffins, had no points in five games with Springfield prior to signing with Grand Rapids and has skated in two games with the Griffins, registering no points...forward Kevin Estrada has eight points (2g, 6a) in 33 games with the Lowell Lock Monsters ...goaltender Craig Kowalski is 3-1-2 in his six games with Lowell, registering a 3.08 GAA and .919 save percentage...forward Drew Larman has collected 14 points (6g, 8a) in 24 games with Rochester...defenseman Martin Lojek has scored a goal and an assist in 12 games with the Americans...and forward Steve Saviano has picked up eight points (6g, 2a) in 21 total games with the Lock Monsters, including four goals in the last two games.
