
Stingrays Game Preview: Stingrays Continue Three-Game Road Trip Tonight against Gwinnett

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays visit the Gwinnett Gladiators tonight at 7:05 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia. Tonight is the eighth of 16 meetings between to the two East-Division rivals this season.
Series Breakdown:
The Stingrays roll into tonight's matchup with a 5-2-0-0 head-to-head record against the Gladiators and are on a five-game winning streak against their long-time rivals. The two sides last met on Thursday in Duluth, Georgia with the Stingrays prevailing 2-1 in the shootout. All time, the Stingrays sit with a 71-52-13 record. Forward Braden Pimm actively leads the Stingrays against the Gladiators with four points (four goals) and scored the game-winning shootout goal Thursday. Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis is 4-0-0-0 against Gwinnett with a 1.22 goals-against average and .942 save percentage.
Carbery Hits 250 Mark:
Tonight's contest is Spencer Carbery's 250 regular-season game as Head Coach of the Stingrays. The Victoria, British Columbia, native ranks fourth in team history in regular-season games coached and is 35 games behind Rick Adduono (284 games) and 97 contests behind Rick Vaive (346 games). Jason Fitzsimmons coached the most contests in team history with 360 from 2002-07.

Former Stingrays Goaltender Earns First NHL Callup:
Washington Capitals prospect Pheonix Copley earned his first National Hockey League (NHL) recall yesterday joining the Capitals from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL). Copley stood between the pipes for the Stingrays in three games late last season going 2-1-0 with 3.26 goals-against average and .906 save percentage.
