RUBBER MATCH VS. RUSH

The Oilers are taking on the Rush for the fifth time in seven days and the eighth time this season. Tonight's contest is the final meeting of a three-game series at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center this week. Tulsa is 3-3-1 against Rapid City this season and each team has scored 22 total goals in the season series. After tonight's clash is concluded, the two squads won't face off again until late February.

SETTLING FOR A SINGLE

The Oilers' bid for consecutive road victories came up just short in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Rush on Friday night. Tommy Mele scored Tulsa only goal of the contest and Kevin Carr made 30 saves as the Oilers earned a single point in the setback. Rush forward Dylan Clarke took a charging major in overtime but the Oilers were unable to capitalize on an extended, three-minute 4-on-3 power play. Rapid City goalie John Griggs shut down four of the Oilers' five shootout attempts and Daniel Barczuk netted the game-winner in the fifth, and final round of the shootout. For the first time in the season series, the Oilers and Rush battled beyond regulation and Tulsa dropped to 4-3 in shootouts this season.

DIALED IN ON "D"

In the last two games against Rapid City, the Oilers have only surrendered two goals, their lowest two-game total of the entire season. If Friday's shootout game winner is subtracted, Tulsa has only allowed one goal in the last 125 minutes of hockey. The Oilers have not given up an even-strength goal over the last two games. Kevin Carr, who has been in net for each of the last two outings, has stopped 51 of the last 52 shots he has faced.

TIME TO START A NEW ONE

Drew Fisher's nine-game point streak and nine-game assist streak, the longest assist streak in the ECHL this season, finally came to an end on Friday night in Rapid City. Over the course of his impressive run, Fisher posted 16 points (5 goals, 11 assists) and a +13 rating. The third year pro out of International Falls, Minnesota ranks second on the squad and fifth in the league with 38 points on the season.

MINOR BUMP IN THE ROAD

For the first time in ten games, the trio of Adam Pleskach, Jeff Jubinville, and Drew Fisher failed to register a single point. Coincidentally, the last time that line was held off the score sheet was also against the Rush in a 4-0 loss at the BOK Center on December 19.

OIL DROPS

The Oilers have earned points in five of their last seven games...With his goal on Friday, Tommy Mele became the seventh Oilers player this season to reach double-digits in goals (10)...Adam Pleskach leads the Oilers in shootout attempts (7) and is tied with T.J. Caig for the team lead in shootout goals (3)... The Oilers have four players - Adam Pleskach, Drew Fisher, T.J. Caig, Jon Booras - in the top ten in the ECHL scoring race...
