TOLEDO, OH - In the third of five head-to-head meetings between the two teams this season, the Indy Fuel battled passionately, but ultimately fell to the Toledo Walleye on Saturday at Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio by a final score of 4-2. With the loss, the Fuel fell to 6-21-3-3 overall this season and with 18 points, remain alone in seventh place in the ECHL's North Division standings.

Toledo tallied the first period's only goal at 4:30 when Kyle Rodgers poked home an errant Josh Holmstrom shot to make it 1-0 Walleye through 20 minutes. In the middle stanza, the Fuel successfully killed off three consecutive penalties before Garett Bembridge poked home a tying score with just one minute remaining in the frame to tie the game at one heading into the third. Bembridge's tally, his 12th of the season, was initially waved off by referee Kenny Anderson, but after Indy centerman Kyle Stroh was cleared of goaltender interference, Bemridge's equalizer was deemed a good goal and the game headed to the third period tied at one apiece.

In the final frame, the Fuel grabbed their lone lead of game midway through the period as Indy captain Mike Duco tipped home a power-play score at 10:05 on feeds from Nick Bruneteau and Bembridge to make it 2-1. Toledo rattled off three straight scores the rest of the way, however, as Anthony Luciani, Kyle Bonis and Michael Leone potted markers at 11:45, 13:31 and 19:22 respectively to seal the Walleye's 4-2 win.

Jeff Lerg earned the win in net for Toledo by virtue of a 31 save performance while Mac Carruth took the loss for the Fuel, stopping 20 of the 23 Walleye shots he faced. The Fuel's specialty teams were stellar on Saturday as the Indy power-play went one for three against the Walleye's top-ranked penalty kill and the Fuel's PK posted a perfect five-for-five mark vs. the ECHL's best power-play.
