Game Preview

The ice surface of Wings Stadium will become art this evening, as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Cincinnati Cyclones during the first ever Kids Paint the Ice Night, presented by the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. Tonight will be the sixth meeting of the season between the teams. The K-Wings are 2-3-0-0 against the Cyclones.

Severe weather and traveling conditions gave the K-Wings an impromptu night off last night. Winners of two straight, the K-Wings return home to commence a three-game home stand. The two-game winning streak ties Kalamazoo's season-high.

Like the K-Wings, the Cyclones enter tonight on a two-game winning streak. Cincinnati is playing its best hockey of the season, winning five out of their last six games. Their only setback during that stretch was a 5-3 loss on January 2nd at Wings Stadium to the K-Wings.

Heating Up

Two members of the K-Wings are starting the week on fire. Forwards Eric Kattelus and Nathan Longpre each are riding four-game point streaks.

All-Star Bound

On Thursday, forward Curtis Valk was named to the ECHL's All-Star Team. Valk will be the K-Wings lone representative at the ECHL All-Star Classic on Wednesday, January 21st in Orlando, Florida.

Life on the Road

Dating back to December 31st, seven of the Cyclones next nine games will occur on the road. So far this season, Cincinnati is 8-5-0-1 away from the U.S. Bank Arena.

Dominate in the Second Period

Cincinnati's best scoring period has been the second period. The Cyclones have outscored their opponents 41-17 in the middle stanza.

Over/Under is Three Three has been the magic number for the Cyclones. Cincinnati is 8-0-0-1 when scoring three or more goals this season and they are 14-4-0-1 when holding their opponents to three goals or less.
