Stingrays Fall Short against Road Warriors 3-0

Greenville, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays (1-2-0-0) fell to the Greenville Road Warriors (1-2-0-0) 3-0 at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina Friday night.

The Road Warriors opened the scoring on the power play when forward Chad Nehring poked in a rolling puck past netminder Adam Morrison (L, 29 saves 31 shots) at 8:20 of the first period.

Forward Vinny Saponari made it a two-goal Road Warriors lead 5:57 into the middle frame beating Morrison under the right arm from the top of the goal crease. Forward Scott Arnold sealed the victory and the shutout for netminder Jeff Malcolm (22 saves) with an empty-net tally with 26 seconds remaining in the contest. The Stingrays finished the contest 0-for-3 on the power play while the Road Warriors went 1-for-3.

The Stingrays celebrate Opening Night on Saturday, October 25 at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum!
