Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. (October 24, 2014) - Danny Battochio made 19 saves and Jesse Schultz, Kyle Stroh and Dan Barczuk provided the goals as the Rapid City Rush (2-1-0-0) blanked host Quad City Mallards (0-1-0-0) 3-0 in the Mallards' first ever ECHL game Friday night.
Mallard goaltender Parker Milner (30 saves) shined while keeping the Rush off the scoreboard until Schultz buried Winston Day-Chief's cross-crease pass with just over a minute and a half left in the second period.
Just 39 seconds into the third period Stroh's wrist shot from the left wing circle gave Rapid City some breathing room.
Barczuk buried the puck from close range to finish off the contest at 15:10 of the third.
