
Smith, Haley Named ECHL All-Stars

West Valley City, Utah - The ECHL has announced that Utah forwards Trevor Smith and Micheal Haley have been selected to represent the team at the ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition January 22 and 23 in Stockton, California.
Assigned to Utah by the Islanders and Grizzlies AHL affiliate in Bridgeport on October 31, Smith, 22, is currently the Grizzlies leading scorer with 11 goals, 14 assists and a plus-12 in 22 games. He has recorded two four-point games for the Grizzlies this season. The British Columbia native is second among ECHL rookies with 108 shots on goal and tied an all-time Utah record with 13 shots December 4 versus Phoenix.
Haley, 21, has been with the Grizzlies and Islanders AHL affiliate in Bridgeport for the last two weeks. With Utah, Haley had ten goals, five assists, 94 penalty minutes and a plus-seven in 22 games. The 5-foot-10 forward recorded his first professional hat trick November 2 at Las Vegas.
Hosted by the Stockton Thunder and the City of Stockton at Stockton Arena, the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light will be played on Jan. 23 with the 11th edition of the Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game Skills Competition being held on Jan. 22.
The Utah Grizzlies open a seven-game road trip Friday, December 28 in Alaska. Utah returns to the E-Center Friday, January 11 and Saturday, January 12 to host the Idaho Steelheads.
