Kevin St. Pierre makes 32 saves to thwart Youngstown

TULSA, OKLAHOMA - Kevin St. Pierre made 32 saves on 33 shots to lead the Tulsa Oilers to a 3-1 victory over the SteelHounds on Friday night.

After a scoreless first period Warren McCutcheon scored at 1:53 of the second to give Tulsa a 1-0 lead. McCutcheon extends his league leading goal scoring streak to six with that goal. Former Hound Jeff Christian put Tulsa up 2-0 after two periods with his fifth goal of the season at 15:26.

Jason Baird extended his point streak to nine as he scored the lone goal for Youngstown with 8:21 to play in the game. Josh Garbutt put the game out of reach as he scored at 15:42 to give the Oilers the 3-1 win. The Hounds out shot the Oilers 33-25 for the game.

The Hounds drop to 17-7-1 (35 points) and are now in a first place tie with the Mississippi RiverKings in the Northeast Division. Tulsa improvesa to 7-13-2 (16 points) and stay in fourth place in the Northwest Division.

The Hounds will finish their two game road trip on Saturday night when they visit the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs for an 8:05 start.
