Trio of Falcons Earn All Star Selection

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons, in conjunction with the ECHL, announced today that defenseman Kenny MacAulay, center Oren Eizenman, and right wing Igor Gongalsky have been selected to play in the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game in Stockton on January 23.

MacAulay, in his first pro season out of the University of Vermont, is second on the Falcons with a plus-9 rating, and has scored three goals and added 10 assists for 13 points in 25 games.

Eizenman leads Fresno this season with 14 goals, which is tied for fourth among ECHL rookies entering Friday's games, while his 23 points are tied for 10th among first-year players, and tied with Jarrett Konkle for the Falcons' team lead.

Gongalsky returned to the line-up on Tuesday after missing four games with an injury. In 21 games this season, Gongalsky has tallied 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points, and leads the team with a plus-11 rating.

Fresno's three rookies are among 12 rookies on the National Conference roster. Only four of the 21 players have ever been selected to an ECHL All-Star Game.

Hosted by the Stockton Thunder and the City of Stockton at Stockton Arena, the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light will be played on January 23 with the 11th edition of the Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game Skills Competition being held on January 22.

The starting lineups are determined in voting by National Conference coaches, team captains, media directors, broadcasters and media members. Coaches also submitted the top prospects from within their conference to determine the final roster with each of the nine teams having a representative.

Fresno returns from its Christmas break, traveling to Stockton to take on the Thunder on Thursday, December 27 at 7:00 p.m. Catch all of the action on 790 ESPN Radio, The Deuce, starting with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show at 6:45.

The Falcons are back at Save Mart Center on Saturday, December 29, hosting the Victoria Salmon Kings at 7:30 p.m. It's the second annual Relay at the Rink, presented by ABC 30, 93.7 KISS Country, and Schoettler-Neufeld Tire. The Falcons will wear special purple jerseys, which will be auctioned off after the game to benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. In addition, the first 2,000 fans in attendance receive a Falcons purple beanie.
