Johnstown Chiefs News Release
Johnstown, PA - Randy Rowe picked up one goal and two assists in his first game back from the IR, but the Cincinnati Cyclones rode a four-goal second period to a 5-3 victory on Friday night.
Rowe gave the Chiefs a 1-0 lead at 10:12 of the first with the Chiefs on the power play. Rowe stuffed in a rebound off of his own shot, while Brian Deeth and Kenny Roche assisted.
The Chiefs' fortunes changed in the second period, though. Barret Ehgoetz scored twice in a span of 2:17 to give Cincy the lead, and they never looked back.
Cory Urquhart tipped in a Tyler Howells shot for a 3-1 lead, but Jean Desrochers' wrister over the glove of Cedrick Desjardins cut the lead to 3-2.
Jean-Michel Daoust's power play goal reestablished the Cyclones' two goal lead before the second period expired. Scott Reynolds and Tyler Hirsch would then trade third period goals 33 seconds apart, and the Chiefs would never get closer than two goals.
Mike Brown got the start after being reassigned from Providence of the AHL, and turned away 24 of 29 shots. The Chiefs scored on the power play for the seventh straight game going 1-for-3.
The next Chiefs home game is on Saturday, December 22 against the Cincinnati Cyclones at 7:05.
