The Kelowna Rockets continued their hot streak with a 5-2 victory over the Prince George Cougars on Friday night at the CN Centre in Prince George, BC.
Talyn Boyko stopped 18 shots to pick up his third victory of the season and second straight win since being acquired from the Tri-City Americans. Mark Liwiski picked up first star honors after posting a goal and an assist.
The Rockets record now moves to 7-3-0-1, they've collected a 11 of a possible 12 points in their last six games.
Mark Liwiski (3) made a stellar individual effort to put the Rockets on the board first 2:18 into the game. Steel Quiring (2) and Tyson Feist (4) pushed the Rockets ahead to a 3-0 lead. Liekit Reichle (2) cut into Kelowna's lead before the end of the first.
Viliam Kmec (1) scored early in the second for the Cougars to make it a one-goal game.
Colton Dach (6) and Pavel Novak (8) scored in the third period to cushion the Rockets lead.
The Rockets shut down all three Cougars power-play attempts and went one-for-two with the man advantage.
Kelowna will be back in action tomorrow night when they wrap up the double header against Prince George at the CN Centre.
