Tonight
The Saskatoon Blades take on the CHL's number one ranked team, the Winnipeg ICE, in the first of eight meetings this season.
This is also the first of back-to-back contests in consecutive nights at Wayne Fleming Arena. Both teams head into the contest riding winning streaks, with Saskatoon looking for a third straight victory following Friday's 2-1 win in Brandon.
The ICE have rattled off four straight wins, and are off to a red-hot start, winning 15 of their first 16 games to hold sole possession of first place in the WHL.
Tonight's battle features the top two squads in the East Division, although the ICE sit nine points up on Saskatoon in top spot.
Who to Watch
San Jose Sharks prospect Tristen Robins scored a goal and an assist in Friday's 2-1 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings. The Clear Lake, MB product remains firmly atop the WHL scoring race with 27 points on the campaign.
On Friday, Captain Aidan De La Gorgendiere notched his long-awaited first goal of the season, opening the scoring against Brandon in the first period. The 19-year-old from Langley, BC sits third in team scoring with 13 points in 16 games.
Veteran netminder Nolan Maier was next to perfect against the Wheat Kings, making a ludicrous 46 saves on 47 shots to earn his 100th career victory.
Belarusian forward Egor Sidorov has six points in his last six games and sits sixth in league rookie, scoring 13 points in 16 games.
