Robinson Signs SPC, Reassigned To Elmira

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have signed Defenseman Jody Robinson to a standard AHL player's contract and reassigned him to the United Hockey League's Elmira Jackals.
Robinson signed a professional tryout contract with the Sound Tigers on February 6th and posted three assists and six penalty minutes in 17 games with the team. He also appeared in nine AHL games earlier this season with the Rochester Americans posting one assist and eight penalty minutes. Robinson began this season in Elmira recording two goals, nine assists, 11 points, 56 penalty minutes and a +11, which led the Jackals at the time he signed a PTO with the Sound Tigers, in 43 games.
The Sound Tigers will host the Springfield Falcons this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and the Binghamton Senators this Sunday at 4:05 p.m. All Sound Tigers' games are broadcast live on "The ZONE" FOX Sports Radio 1300 AM and at www.soundtigers.com. WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350 AM also broadcasts road games, and "The Sound Tigers Report" airs every Tuesday from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on "The ZONE". Head Coach Steve Stirling will be the guest on tonight's edition of the show.
