March 11, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Worcester IceCats News Release

WORCESTER, MA - This Sunday, when the IceCats faceoff against the Cleveland Barons at Worcester's Centrum Centre, the 'Cats will be wearing special shamrock jerseys to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The wearing of the green will culminate with a jersey auction to benefit programming at Worcester City Parks and Recreation Department.

Last year, the IceCats along with representatives of the Telegram & Gazette and Peterson Oil Service were honored at City Hall for the longstanding program, which has raised nearly $70,000.00. The IceCats and their corporate partners began the St. Patrick's themed jersey auction during the 1995-1996 season.

For this Sunday's 4:05 PM faceoff, fans will have an opportunity to submit an entry bid throughout the first portion of the game. The process will then open up to a live auction during the second intermission. At the conclusion of the game, the winning bidders will be presented with their sweater in an on-ice ceremony, have a souvenir photo taken with the player and have the jersey signed.

Also on Sunday, all fans may partake in the giant post game autograph session featuring the entire Worcester IceCats roster.

Tickets for all games, including Friday's 7:05 match with the Norfolk Admirals, are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, along with the Box Office at Worcester's Centrum Centre.
