Manitoba Moose News Release

The Manitoba Moose announced today that they have reassigned centre Jason Goulet to the Quad City Mallards of the United Hockey League (UHL).

This season with the Moose, Goulet had played in 15 AHL games and registered one assist with two penalty minutes and ten shots. He was recently recalled to Manitoba on February 23 and saw action in six out of the last eight matches.

Goulet, 27, has played the majority of the 2002-03 season with Quad City. In 34 UHL games, the 6'0" centreman accumulated 12 goals and 23 assists with 16 penalty minutes. He is currently sitting in ninth spot on the Mallards in scoring and has notched six power play tallies and two game-winners.

During the 2001-02 season, the 27 year-old forward finished his best season in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals. The centre was third in team scoring, notching 17 goals and 20 assists for 37 points in 64 AHL games. Goulet was honoured as the Admirals recipient of the AHL Man of the Year award (given to a player from each AHL team for his outstanding commitment to local community and charitable organizations).

Goulet was originally signed to a pro tryout contract on Sept. 4/02. He inked a standard players contract with the Moose on Nov. 27 before being assigned to Quad City that same day.

Manitoba Moose individual tickets for all home dates are on sale now. For more information, contact the Moose ticket office at (204) 987-PUCK (7825).
