Bootland Back with Griffins

Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Tuesday recalled right wing Darryl Bootland from the Toledo Storm of the East Coast Hockey League.

This marks the second Grand Rapids stint for the 21-year-old Bootland, who spent two weeks with the Griffins following his initial Feb. 11 recall, posting one assist and 16 penalty minutes in six games.

The Detroit Red Wings prospect and 2000 draft pick of the Colorado Avalanche currently leads the ECHL with 322 PIM and ranks sixth on the Storm with 36 points (17-19-36) in 54 games.

Bootland will be available to the Griffins tomorrow when they continue their seven-game road trip with a 9:00 p.m. start against the Utah Grizzlies at The E Center.
